It's been a few weeks since the last outing, weather and competitions have seen to that, so it was nice to be out playing with the Swindle this weekend.

The forecast was for a grey old day with a small chance of the odd rain shower. The rain held off, the winds were light, perfect conditions for golf!

The averages reflected the conditions with average stableford of 30 and an average gross score of 92.33.

This week saw the introduction of the long awaited internal out of bounds between 12 and 13 on the 12th hole. It seems the 12th took more than it's fair share of victims today. It is, I think, ironic that the purpose of the OOB it to prevent people driving the hedge yet the first victim of the swindle was yours truly who NEVER uses a driver off this tee. My 7 iron was pushed slightly right helped by a little wind and took a nasty bounce to nestle on the line between the last two posts and therefore OOB.

There were birdies for James (5), Pete Laurence (6) Peter Creighton (3) and Roger Gibbs (9) well done guys. James' birdie consolidates his position as leader of the Gross eclectic table with just 3, 7 and 13 remaining for a full house. James couldn't score on the par 3s today let alone birdie them but I'm sure he'll back them soon.

Our winner this week was on fire for the whole round. Jock shot 18 on the front 9 and 22 on the back 9. I think the fact that there were two pretenders for the front 9 with 19 points a piece spurred Jock on to take the main prize. Jock joins the ever growing list in second place in the POTY table. Well done Jock, it was a super round.

In second place is Richard Hyne with 37 points. Richard was certain of at least the front 9 but wasn't going to settle for that and posted a solid 17 points on the back 9 to take the bridesmaid spot. Well done Richard.

The front 9 went to Pete Laurence with 19 points. Well done Peter.

The back 9 went to Paul "the champ" Gardner with 17 points. Well done champ.

Hopefully the weekend weather can remain kind in the run up to Christmas.

Have a great week all.
