Adjusting to the wet conditions caused a bit of a challenge today for most and we had no birdies, which is very unusual. Average stableford score was down at 28.17 and gross average up at 96.8.  On the course today the first group required a ruling on the 8th regarding the replacement of a damaged ball. Roger Small felt that his ball had become damaged, presumably as a result of the bizarre flight of the ball from the tee resulting in it coming to rest some 30 yards from the tee in the short rough. He asked his playing partners if he was able to replace the ball as he believed it was damaged but was told that in the absence of visible damage to the ball he would need to replace the ball and continue to play the hole with said ball. After several minutes of discussion and receiving a shout from the group on the 6th hole to get a move on Roger proceeded to play the hole out with the "damaged" ball.  As with past questions regarding rules (picking and cleaning plugged ball last

Yes, the first cold weather of the winter arrived this weekend. Not freezing but a stark contrast to the warmth we've experienced lately. Shorts were still the order of the day but I don't think it will be long before they head back into storage for a few months.  The conditions were very good today with light to medium strength winds and beautiful sunshine. The rain of recent days has softened the course nicely allowing for a bit more aggressive golf. However, the bunkers are shocking and the greens were challenging to read having not been cut or rolled this morning.  The change in conditions caught out many of the 13 players today resulting in an average gross score of 98.8 (this maybe a record) and an average stableford score down at 26.31. Clearly we're getting ourselves ready for big numbers in the Fox Hunter in a couple of weeks time! Not surprisingly birdies were almost absent today. Personally I had a few chances (3, 16 and 17) but could not get the right weight to
