The weather brought us winds, rain and plunging temperatures, unlike the middle of the week were we saw temperatures of 26degC on Wednesday. The course was looked splendid after the Clutch Tour visited during the week with a lot of run on the fairways and fast greens. The scoring this week was not as good for the winner as last week with Dan's mammoth score. This week we had a tie for first with Duncan and Steve B on 35 points. Duncan scored 20 points on the front nine, none of his playing partners noticed and felt there was an invisible golfer in their midst. Steve B had a solid round and Duncan must rue his two blobs on 16 and 17.  Duncan on the 12th took a 5 iron off of the tee and his ball vaulted over the hedge like a runner in the Grand National. More drama and Duncan hit a massive slice on 15 nearly going out of bounds on the 16th, he hit a great recovery to make his par. Next week is the JJ Cup at the Nottinghamshire Golf Club, also our first major of the year, so good luck...

What a day of Golf! Weather was set fair with a few spots of rain and course looking splendid. The day was all about Dan, Dan scored his best every Gross score of 79, his first time in the seventies and won with a massive 46 points. This is the highest score we have had since records began in 2017. Dan won by 10 points from Martin Deery. Almost certainly the biggest winning margin we have had. All off a respectable 17 handicap. Dan had spent the week with his school's sports lads and lasses in the Netherland, they also missed the Ferry back delaying their return. Obviously that trauma didn't hinder his performance. Second place was Martin Deery with a score that would normally win. Well done Martin. Front nine went to Jason with 18 points followed by a bit of collapse on the back nine. Back nine went to Peter Creighton with a commendable17 points. Neither of these were anywhere near Dan's scores of 24 points and 22 points respectively. Stories from the course Peter L and Ro...

First Swindle game for a month, the course is looking much better, the fairways have been cut and the greens are much faster. The latter causing many a missed putt. The weather was cold and windy, no doubt, adding to our problems, James had problems resitting his ball on the 14th as the wind kept blowing it away. James had a great run from the 9th to the 12th with three birdies and one par on his way to a narrow win from Richard beating him by one point. All the ropes are now gone, Duncan was pleased, and I am sure we are all looking forward to moving onto the white tees soon. Good to see Peter Laurence back after his op and manging to get two birdies today so it clearly hasn't affected his game. The first Major of the season, the John James Cup, is coming up in a few weeks time I am sure we are all looking forward to that. The average gross score today was 93.50 and the average Stableford score was 27.64. Best gross of the day was from James Miller with 80. There were 0 Eagles ...
