Perfect conditions for Golf this weekend with no wind and nice warm if somewhat overcast conditions. All managed to make it to the course despite the panic buying of fuel. I personally had to fill up on the way back from Norfolk on Friday so was not concerned, however I realised it would be easy to get stuck in queue on the way in. Hopefully this latest crazy faze will pass quickly! Scores were generally good today with all but two players scoring 30 or more. Sadly the two who didn't brought the average down to 30.75. Average gross score was 93.5. Only two birdies today: Steve Reynolds (1) and Peter Creighton (18). Well done gents. Now Peter's birdie on the 18th is worth a mention. He fatted his tee shot around 60 yards then hit a 5 wood to just off the green, 10 yards to the right of the pin. He sunk his put for what must go down as a spectacular birdie. A new approach to the 18th, food for thought gents.  Our winner today managed 4 x 4 pointers today on what was generally a s

Perfect golfing conditions this Saturday, light winds and clear skies, should result in some good scores and it generally did! This reporter was relaxing in his swanky free hotel room admiring views of the Tower of London, Tower Bridge and the Thames after a free evening on the tiles down at Guildhall so was relying on stand-in reporter Martin Deery for the scoop this week. The scoop was Steve Reynolds apparently having trouble sticking to the fairways, in fact having trouble sticking to the course. Much time apparently spent looking for Steve's ball by Steve's group. Steve's score reflected what sounded like a challenging day for our bridesmaid. Martin shared a couple of pictures which I believe are evidence of misappropriation of fairway! I have not included the pictures as it and the story that goes with it may incriminate one or more of our group. Martin may wish to elaborate when you play with him next! Onto the scores. An average score of 31.4 points today and an aver

Another grey day at Aldwickbury and no rain means the course is getting harder under foot making it more difficult to decide what the right club to take on a hole is. Of course it doesn't matter what club you take if you play like I did today, they were all rubbish. My only consolations for today were (1) Cobblers won against the mighty Scunthorpe (2-0) and (2) Duncan scored as badly as I did meaning I wasn't bottom of the scoresheet today, he only played 9 holes however so bit of a hollow victory that one. Thanks to Martin Lythgoe for this image entitled "Two balls into the trees on 4. Bouncing out into the same spot." although I wasn't exactly sure about the narrative. Was it two balls hit by the same person, two balls hit by different people, two balls thrown out of the bushes by a passing rambler? Anyway, whatever the point of the picture, it's given me an interesting photoshop candidate for the 2021 collection. Cheers Martin. I'll be brief today an ge
