Only a few more games left to play this year so I thought I'd open with a reminder of the remaining schedule Saturday 27 November - Normal Swindle Saturday 4 December - Turkey Trot (4 ball stableford, best 3 scores count) Saturday 11 December - Christmas Cup and Christmas Lunch Saturday 18 December - Last Swindle of 2021 Saturday 25 December - Christmas day (No swindle) Saturday 1 January - New Years Day (No swindle) The Christmas Cup will be off Swindle Handicaps with NO WIN ADJUSTMENTS applied as per the Autumn Cup. I considered including the statistics in the annual stats but as no win adjustments apply this would give unfair advantage to recent winners in the full year comps, also specific prizes will be awarded for this competition so including the usual £5 would be additional cost to most therefore they will not apply to eclectic, RTDB or POTY statistics.  A grey and gloomy day with a sticky muddy course to contend with reminded me how lucky we are to be able to get out and p

A more definite feel of winter this week with leaves dropping and a general dampness around the course. Winter rules in play but playing off the white tees for now. The course is starting to show the signs of winter wear following the rain last week and some of the off-fairway conditions are challenging. The positive is the green staff have finally cut some of the rough back so you now have a chance of finding those wayward balls. Before I get to the scores I have a story from this week's competition courtesy of the Roger "The Count" Small (verbally) and a composition from one of his fellow golfers. Roger nearly lost his ball on the 2nd but found it to the left of the path and chipped it in for an astronomical 5 points. 5 times Steve's score at that point and infinitely more than Andy who started with 2 blobs after playing like a Muppet. Andy was lacking a lot of distance and he blamed it on having a screw loose, something his playing partners were well aware of. Ther
