Scores for JJ Cup Day 1 Friday 17 April 2026
This year we started on the Signature course and ran the JJ Cup first so we could present the trophy as on the Saturday people are keen to leave as soon as they have finished, therefore no warm up game. The competition was run, as normal, with WHS handicaps.
We had fourteen starters and all finished. Unfortunately no John James this year. John was however kind enough to donate his deposit of £57 to swell the prize fund, thank you John.
The weather was mostly kind to us this year although it was very windy and we had a few light shows during the round today.
Some great golf by Duncan today with a splendid 40 points following on from his win last Saturday, obviously the inform golfer.
Steve Reynolds forever the bridesmaid finished second. This year prizes were awarded for third and four, well done to the two Martins.
First prize winner was Duncan Miller who received the trophy, a box of golf balls, a golf hat and the pleasure of booking next years tournament. This is Duncan's first Early Birds Major competition.
Second prize winner Steve Reynolds who received a sleeve of golf balls and a golf hat.
Third prize winner Martin Lythgoe who received a sleeve of golf balls and a golf hat.
Fourth prize winner Martin Deery who received a sleeve of golf balls and a golf hat.
The sweepstake was won by Steve Brewerton who won £47, second went to luck Tony who won £23.
A good dinner that night was followed by Duncan's presentation of 2025 stats, something we all look forward to. Thank you to Duncan for doing that again. The highlight was the horse race presentation of the player of the year positions through out the year.
