Yes, the first cold weather of the winter arrived this weekend. Not freezing but a stark contrast to the warmth we've experienced lately. Shorts were still the order of the day but I don't think it will be long before they head back into storage for a few months.

The conditions were very good today with light to medium strength winds and beautiful sunshine. The rain of recent days has softened the course nicely allowing for a bit more aggressive golf. However, the bunkers are shocking and the greens were challenging to read having not been cut or rolled this morning.

The change in conditions caught out many of the 13 players today resulting in an average gross score of 98.8 (this maybe a record) and an average stableford score down at 26.31. Clearly we're getting ourselves ready for big numbers in the Fox Hunter in a couple of weeks time!

Not surprisingly birdies were almost absent today. Personally I had a few chances (3, 16 and 17) but could not get the right weight to the putts. Coenraad bagged the only birdie of the day on 3. Well done Coenraad.

Our winner today, Coenraad, was 6 points ahead of the field with 37 points. Well done Coenraad.

James Miller took second place with 31 points. I think this may be the lowest second place for a while. Well done James.

Richard Hyne took the front 9 with 17 points. Well done Richard.

I took the back 9 with 17 points on countback from Pete Laurence. Well done Me, unlucky Pete Laurence!

Have a fantastic week gents.
