Eyebrows - this is mostly what Pete Creighton saw on the front 9 today but at least he was missing the bunkers. Notably on 9 he went from one eyebrow to another. This made it a tough front 9 for Pete but he did manage to bounce back with 17 on the back 9 to reach 30, leading a pack of 4 with that score to win....nothing!

Personally I was on for a very good round today with 18 out and 15 points on the back 9 with 3 holes to go. I managed just one point on the last 3 holes thanks to pushing tee shot on 16 onto the 15th fairway a meal of the recovery and scrambling a point, shanking the tee shot on 17, losing the ball and going back to play a provisional which I very nearly birdied for a point but just missed then shanking the second shot on the 18th to leave myself 100 yards which I duly overhit by about 10 yards leaving a nasty downhill chip. The scorecard says it all.

The conditions were nice today with nice receptive greens and fairways, a light breeze and some beautiful sunshine. This only resulted in 4 birdies: James Miller (11 and 14) Jock hunter (17) and Pete Laurence (10) Well done gents. I missed Jock's birdie as I was walking back to the tee to take another tee shot!

Our winner today brings up only his second win of the season. James went on the charge on the front 9 with a gross score of 39 (+3) stableford 18 and conspired to throw it all away by scoring 16 on the back 9 including 2 blobs. His 34 stableford matched my score and won on countback thanks to a stronger back 6 (9 vs my 8) Well done James.

Of course I took second place with 34 points also. Well done me :-(

The front 9 was taken by Roger Gibbs (17 points) who is still having trouble putting 18 good holes together. He has a total of 9 front or back 9s this season so far leading the way for back 9 wins (6) and now catching up on the front 9 with 3 F9 wins!! Well done Roger.

The back 9 went to Jock Hunter with 18 points, a solid back 9 indeed. Well done Jock!

There was other good news today as Andy seems to have forgotten how to play on the eve of the Autumn Cup and has consequently been bumped of the POTY top spot ;-)

Autumn Cup tomorrow so see you in the morning those taking part.
