Yes for some early birds there were plenty of birdies today. 9 in fact coming mostly in the early groups. It included one special birdie worth a mention from Steve Reynolds on 18 who drove into the first bunker on the left, hit his second shot onto the bunker and sunk his put. Lucky hey Tone?

The conditions were cold but fair today. Cloud was keeping away the frost but the cold northerly wind was still present and has been drying out the course a lot. The course itself could do with some warmer weather to allow the grass to grow as knowing where the fairway is takes a bit of local knowledge at present. So much so, that on 2 they've gone to the trouble of marking it out with a nice red line.

Personally I found it very hard going today. Driving was ok but irons were somewhat problematic with plenty of wayward shots and most shots coming up well short. This led to my attempt at Andy's record low score although I would say that my scoring was mostly down to 1 pointers as I couldn't put out anything more than about 3 feet today and my chipping was woeful. I managed to put two balls out of bounds on 18 just to round of my day. I hobbled off feeling sorry for myself :-(

The scoring average today was not helped by my 16 points but despite that was back up above 30 points with more than half the field posting 32 points or more. Average gross score was a reasonable 91.4.

Birdies today: Tony (3, 17) Richard (9) Pete Laurence (3, 14) Steve Reynolds (18) Duncan (10, 17) Steve Brewerton (6) Well done all, nice to have to write so much in this section.

Our winner today was none other than Lucky TonE with 40 points!! Tony set the TonE by scoring 4 points on 3 and went on to score 21 out and 19 back with 2 birdies. Feeling lucky today Tony? Well done!

Richard came in second with 38 points, quite a contrast from his fortunes last week it seems. Well done Richard!

The front 9 was taken by Steve Brewerton with 21 points. Well done Steve.

The back 9 goes to Steve Reynolds with 21 points!! Well done Steve.

A special shout out to Pete Laurence who scored 37 points (19, 18) and Duncan Miller who scored 36 points (18, 18) both of them receiving nothing for their trouble. Unlucky gents!

Have a great week gents, hopefully I've reached rock bottom golf-wise now!
