Scores for Saturday 11 November 2023
It was so close to happening on the 18th hole today. Jock approached the lake having hit his ball in near the edge, he placed his clubs down behind him on the slope, they fell over and he very nearly did too. Thankfully he still has excellent core strength and was able to regain his balance. Andy was approaching with his ball retriever and uttered "I have a ball retriever, not a Jock retriever." I'm sure you'll all agree this was particularly funny by Andy's standard!
It was a wonderful morning for a hike around Aldwickbury. With light winds and blue skies and around 7-8 degrees what better place to be on a Saturday morning. Of course the leaves and the low sunshine make for a bit of ball hunting and we lost a few this morning.
The scoring wasn't so good today, maybe because of these two factors. The range from first to last was 17 points with Tony seriously concerned that he was in danger of besting Andy's worst score which it took him until the 14th to beat. Average stableford was down at 27.36 and average gross was up at 94.9.
There were some birdies today. Martin Lythgoe (6) Coenraad (7, 8) and Richard Hyne (7) Well done gents.
Our winner today, Martin Lythgoe, managed 34 points. Not often a winning score but clearly enough in these conditions. Well done Martin.
James Miller managed second place with 33 points. Well done James.
Brian managed 18 out to take the front 9. Well done Me.
Richard managed 17 points to win the back 9. Well done Richard.
We have Coenraad in our team for the Turkey Trot so perhaps you can make it 3 in a row for a Turkey at the Turkey Trot Coenraad. (A bowling term I know but I've been in pain today gents!)
Have a great week all, see you next week.
