Scores for Saturday 26 July 2025



Weather was very benign today, little wind and a slight bit of moisture, greens therefore slower and easier to put on. Scores reflected that with some very good scores on the front nine, many with 20 points or more.

Jason having a solid round before sending one out of bounds on the18th which stalled his score. I myself had a solid front nine but fell apart over 13, 14 and 15. No doubt a a similar story for others.

Winner today with and excellent 43 points was Richard also scoring the best gross of the day with 77. Well done Richard. A great score for your Summer League team. 

A multitude of birdies today with Richard getting three and Steve Brewerton getting two. In my group on the 12th both Martin and Jason both scored a birdie, John and I both pars. I think 11 birdies total must be a record for our group. 

The average gross score today was 90.33 and the average Stableford score was a very respectable 34.60 points.

Best gross of the day was from Richard Hyne with 77.

There were 0 Eagles or better today.

There were 11 birdies today.

Stephen Brewerton with 2 on holes 12 and 18.
Martin Lythgoe with 1 on hole 12.
Jason Landau with 1 on hole 12.

Our winner today with 43 points was Richard Hyne.
In second place on 41 points was Martin Lythgoe.
The front 9 went to Paul Gardner with 21 points.
The back 9 went to Peter Williams with 16 points.

The weather today was calm and dry. Some tricky pin positions with the 14th being the worst. The fairways have not improved a whole lot but not too dissimilar to Burhill which a few of us played earlier in the week. Scores for Saturday 06 September 2025

Good weather greeted us on Saturday and the course is starting to look better. Fairways are starting to grow back after a week of on and off rain. Greens more receptive and greens a little slower. New bunkers are looking great, excellent work by the Neary's and by the greenkeeping staff. Filled in bunkers are much better than the grassed depressions we have been accustomed to in the past. I (Paul) especially like the changes to the 14th, also the 3rd is looking great. 17th has a lot of work going on around the green with large areas of G.U.R.  Well done to Paul for his win today he sunk some good putts. Of note group 3 had all four players on 34 points coming to the last. Stories from the course John James to Steve Reynolds "You have a very Christian swing" , we think he meant crisp. The weather was kind to us today, no wind and the expected rain failed to materialise.  This was our first weekend of the year off of the white tees, the scoring shows that it did not affect our scores with five people scoring 20 or more points on the front nine and four of 19 on the back nine. The winner today with a fantastic 40 points was Martin Deery with three zero point scores and a run of four pars from hole nine onwards. Well done Martin. Reports of many shots that hit the flag, I myself (Paul) had one on the 2nd and Steve B a great one on the 15th, Steve hit a poor tee shot onto the 16th fairway and then hit the trees with his second, the ball coming to rest behind the bunkers on the green side of the 16th, Steve then hit a great wood which bounded onto the green and hit the flag the ball coming to rest about 10 feet away from the pin.
