Plans for changes to the course have been posted near the changing rooms prompting much discussion on the WhatsApp group. Many changes to the number of bunkers and positions. It will be interesting how much is actually completed.

Another pleasant golf day, weather was kind to us but the course less so. The pins were cut very close to the edges of many greens, the 12th especially so with the pin cut back right with many slopes protecting it, it didn't however stop Jason getting a very good birdie there though.  

Today's winner was Roger Small, well done Roger scoring a 3 on the 4th hole for a massive 5 points.

Steve Reynolds moves away from the bottom of the money list with a front 9 win.

The scores were not as good as last week mainly due to the pin positions also the fairways were much slower so the course was playing longer.

The average gross score today was 95.92 points and the average Stableford score was 29.42.

Best gross of the day was from Pete Laurence with 84.

There were 0 Eagles or better today.

There were 6 birdies today.

Roger Small with 1 on hole 6.
Pete Laurence with 1 on hole 2.
Jason Landau with 1 on hole 12.
Jock Hunter with 1 on hole 17.
Steve Reynolds with 1 on hole 3.
Richard Hyne with 1 on hole 16.

Our winner today with 36 points was Roger Small.
In second place on 35 points was Peter Creighton.
The front 9 went to Steve Reynolds with 18 points.
The back 9 went to Pete Laurence with 20 points.

The weather today was calm and dry. Some tricky pin positions with the 14th being the worst. The fairways have not improved a whole lot but not too dissimilar to Burhill which a few of us played earlier in the week. I have added two new items to the website menu the first is a list of members we have had over the years since 2004, that's about as far has by emails go back. Scores for Saturday 06 September 2025

Good weather greeted us on Saturday and the course is starting to look better. Fairways are starting to grow back after a week of on and off rain. Greens more receptive and greens a little slower. New bunkers are looking great, excellent work by the Neary's and by the greenkeeping staff. Filled in bunkers are much better than the grassed depressions we have been accustomed to in the past. I (Paul) especially like the changes to the 14th, also the 3rd is looking great. 17th has a lot of work going on around the green with large areas of G.U.R.  Well done to Paul for his win today he sunk some good putts. Of note group 3 had all four players on 34 points coming to the last. Stories from the course John James to Steve Reynolds "You have a very Christian swing" , we think he meant crisp. The weather was kind to us today, no wind and the expected rain failed to materialise.  This was our first weekend of the year off of the white tees, the scoring shows that it did not affect our scores with five people scoring 20 or more points on the front nine and four of 19 on the back nine. The winner today with a fantastic 40 points was Martin Deery with three zero point scores and a run of four pars from hole nine onwards. Well done Martin. Reports of many shots that hit the flag, I myself (Paul) had one on the 2nd and Steve B a great one on the 15th, Steve hit a poor tee shot onto the 16th fairway and then hit the trees with his second, the ball coming to rest behind the bunkers on the green side of the 16th, Steve then hit a great wood which bounded onto the green and hit the flag the ball coming to rest about 10 feet away from the pin.
