Scores for Monday 29 September 2025

Glorious weather greeted us today and the last group was Jason Landau, James Miller, Peter Creighton and Peter Williams who would be our winner?

An early start of 9:30am would mean we finish at a reasonable hour and we would not catch any traffic on the way home.

The course was much quieter than yesterday and we managed to get around in just over four hours.

Duncan did not even attempt to play golf today but became the roving photographer giving us a good shot of Martin Deery getting the nearest the pin on 17.

Nearest the pin on the 17th by Martin Deery, courtesy of roving report Duncan.

Duncan also managed to catch my long bunker shot to the green on the 5th and I managed to make the birdie. Well done me.

Anyway back to the game, Roger Small had an abysmal start managing only 4 points on the front nine, he almost doubled his score on the par 3 12th with a four point par, another four point par on the 14th to help his score a little bit. On the 16th Roger was concerned he may run out of balls.

Jason was not playing as well as yesterday and his front nine reflected this with only 10 points. Peter and James were holding on managing to take 4 and 5 points out of his lead. The big mover though was Martin Deery in group three who went out in 19 points to take 9 points out of Jason. It looked like it would be James, Peter or Martin for the trophy.

Martin managed to hold it together taking the win with a solid 35 points and a combined score of 66 points over the two days, James and Peter tied for second on 64 points. This mainly due to Peter birdying the last hole for four points and James a double bogie for no points.

Prizes were awarded after the round with nearest the pins and longest drives getting a sleeve of Titliest ProV1 each, second overall also getting a sleeve of balls each. The winner Martin getting a Europe Ryder Cup towel and a sleeve of balls.

Overall winner and second place and winners, second, F9 and B9 for each day also getting monetary prizes.

The trophy for the winner of the Autumn cup was awarded to Martin Deery, unfortunately Paul had forgotten to bring it so Martin was awarded a cardboard cut out instead for the time being.

Everybody said what a great time they had and they would all be happy if we went back for the 2026 Autumn Cup, Martin has the pleasure of arranging that.

The Reds against Blues team event was won by the Blues 10.5 to 4.5. Well done Blues no prizes were awarded.

The sweepstake was won by Martin Deery as he had picked himself, second place was won by Coenraad and James as there was a tie for second.

Update on Duncan's finger, looking much better (02/10/2025)
