Scores for Saturday 17 October 2026
A cold start to the day as temperatures had finally dropped and we have had a little rain. Very windy on the course made golf difficult.
Course condition is improving as the netting had been removed from the 10th and 11th greens. The fairways are still quite poor especially the eighth. The club is introducing the optional use of mats on the fairways later in the year and a selection are available in the Pro Shop. Order yours by the 26th October for a discounted price.
Some issues with double booking as another group had the same time as us, 8:28. They had a booking on EliteLive and we had a confirmation booking on Jock's phone. Obviously a glitch in the matrix.
Some excellent recovery shots today from Andy and Paul who both managed sandy pars. Andy's on the third and Paul's on the ninth.
A notable shot from Dan as he managed to chip in for a well deserved birdie from the cross drains on the fifth.
Round of the day goes to Richard with a fine 80 and 39 points. Well done Richard.
Also some great nines with Richard scoring 21 points on the back nine and Martin 20 on the front nine. Well done guys.
Player Of The Year is hoting up as we draw towards the end of the year. Martin L is clear by four points ahead of Paul and Steve R with Martin D a further two shots back. The "Player of the Year" and the "Race to deBar" are now both shown on the Honours board on the website along side the Major winners.
There are now only four more Swindle games until the end of the year.
Next year's Autumn Cup will be held at the East Sussex National which looks fabulous with its two courses. Well done Martin L for organising.
The weekly Rota is also now visible on the website.
Please keep your availability up to date as it makes it very difficult for James generate the booking sheet, James shouldn't have to chase people every week.
