Scores for Saturday 29 November 2025
The weather was not kind to us today and we had a number of dropouts. It rained for most of our round, which no doubt affected our scores.
Today we were joined by Brian, it was good to see Brian and Emma again, we hope Brian enjoyed his golf and the changes to the course.
Excellent round by James today with a gross 79, 34 points and four birdies.
Richard has now moved to the top of the Player Of The Year table on 26 points but it's still all to play for with two weekends to play with eleven players able to win, although some of those will need two wins. Richard also leads the money list.
On the course we now have a robot cutting the fairway on the 8th. Appeared to be doing a good job. Being much lighter than a tractor, it should damage the fairway less.

Reports from the course
James
"Peter was very happy when he out drove me on the 4th. He even took a picture of it which he might be able to send you. But to be fair to him he did say in was all about the second shot."
"You can see where he ended up. And zoom in and to the right of the flag you can see where my second shot finished."
"I missed the birdie though."
Peter Creighton
"Richard with his tee shot on 17 and Richard and Roger's together. They both birdied"
Play was a little slow today so Google AI has the following tips which we should all take heed of.
Before your shot
- Arrive prepared: Be ready to play when you get to the tee, not after your turn comes.
- Minimize pre-shot routine: Keep your routine concise and limit practice swings to one or two.
- Aim to play in 20 seconds. From club selection to pre-shot routine to execution, strive to hit your shot in 20 seconds when it is your turn to play. Help keep play moving at a brisk pace.
- Plan ahead: Use your downtime to choose your club, check the yardage, and visualize your shot before it's your turn.
- Take a provisional ball: If your first ball is lost, play a provisional ball to avoid returning to the tee.
While on the course
- Keep moving: Walk briskly to your ball and be ready to go
- Follow the group ahead: Keep pace with the group in front of you
- Be ready to putt: Mark your ball, read your putt, and line it up while others are putting
- Move your bag: Place your bag on the side of the green closest to the next tee to avoid backtracking
- Scorecards later: Mark your scorecard on the next tee, not on the green, and not when it's your turn to hit
- Minimize distractions: Avoid long breaks at the halfway house and turn off unnecessary phone notifications
- Team effort: Help others in your group, but encourage efficiency and avoid unnecessary delays.
- Be helpful to others in your group. Follow the flight of all tee shots, not just your own. Once in the fairway, help others look for their ball if you already know the location of yours. Volunteer to fill in a divot or rake a bunker for another player if needed. Be ready to attend the flagstick for others.
- One MEMBER can back up an entire golf course. Don’t be that MEMBER.
There was some debate at the table whether the swindle handicaps match the club handicaps so I have done comparison table (30/11/2025). This is excluding winner's penalties. As you can see a few people, those in red, benefit slightly, but otherwise they track quite closely.
