A hot a windy day at AP promised punishing playing conditions and it delivered. However this seems to have been agreeable for most and our average score posted of 33.71 was one of the best ever.

Before I get to scoring I must relay a few tit bits shared by a member of the group in front of me. When we arrived at the seventh hole Roger "Hits it like DeChambau" Small had accumulated 21 points including a 2 for 5 on the 7th. Roger proceeded to crumble on 8 starting hooking the ball about 120 yards into the long rough separating the 8th and 7th holes followed by a hitting the ball to the right of the course resulting in a lost ball. This was despite the efforts of his fellow golfers who at this point were already very well rehearsed locating Roger's balls. Roger had a chance to reboot his round on 11 when he chipped his second shot onto the green only for his colleagues to point out that he had chosen to strike the wrong ball and was playing Peter Creighton's provisional ball. Roger didn't have such as spectacular back 9 as his front but did post one of his better scores of late. The source of these tit bits pointed out that his normal 14,000 steps was increased to 24,000 steps courtesy of all the ball hunting on the round so every cloud has a silver lining. For his troubles Roger does take a prize this week and jumps to the top of the Eclectic Stableford table courtesy of two 5 pointers (7 and 18.)

Another mention should go to James Miller who shot a best ever 73 gross round which was not enough to win or take second place this week but was enough to put him on top of the Eclectic Gross Table. James needs just 13 to complete a full house on the back 9.

Birdies this week from Duncan (12, 18) James (10, 16) Roger (7, 18) and Richard (8)

We worried at the start of the round that our winner had used up all his luck on booking duties this week. Despite double bogey on the first, 3 pars and a 3 point bogey on consecutive holes put Tony in the driving seat. He was not put off by Roger's antics ahead of us and continued steady scoring throughout the round with the only point dropped being on the first hole. 41 points beat the Miller brothers who were well and truly snapping at his heals. Well done Tony, there was some luck but it was mostly good play that won the day!

Duncan Miller takes second on count back from brother James with 40 points. One more point would've had it Duncan as your 21 back 9 was superior to Tony's 20. Well done.

The front 9 went to Roger Small with 23 points! Well done Roger.

The back 9 went to James with 20 points. Well done James.

All but 3 players managed over 30 points this week, well done all.

Have a great week, enjoy the sun and avoid the thunder.
